The #36 AFW + NFSA screening presents renowned theorist, author, composer and filmmaker, Trinh T. Minh-ha's, 'Shoot for the Contents.'
Located at the intersection between documentary, fiction and experimental film, Trinh's work employs various narrative forms, examine the function and ideology of language, subvert dominant models of representation and have a multi-perspective, non-hierarchical viewpoint.
'Shoot for the Contents' reflects on Mao's famous saying, “Let a hundred flowers blossom and a hundred schools of thought contend,” and is a unique excursion into the maze of allegorical naming and storytelling in China.
